“McNay Settlement Group has built up a tremendous reputation for innovative, excellence and integrity over its 20 year history,” said Luhys. “ I plan to build upon that record and develop programs that will allow us to serve our clients better.”
Angela’s unique qualifications
as Medical Director for McNay Settlement Group made it difficult for the
organization to consider moving her to another position and the decision
was finally made to allow her to serve in a dual role .Luhys, a graduate
of the Northeastern School of Botanical Medicine in Ithaca, New York,
is the only herbalist worldwide to serve to serve as a medical consultant
in the complex structured settlement field.
In her role as Medical Director, Luhys studies the medical history of
injured people who can receive structured settlement payments. She looks
for factors that effect life expectancy and works with structured settlement
company actuaries and medical directors to achieve the highest lifetime
rate of return for McNay’s clients.
“With delegation and good office management skills, I will be able
to maintain the dual role”, said Luhys.
Luhys’s extensive knowledge of the relationship between traditional
and alternative medicines and her ability to digest complex medical information
allows her to serve in a role traditionally limited to physicians.
“Recently, Ms.Luhys has been able to increase a severely injured
woman’s lifetime return by $400,000 by pointing out factors that
insurance company medical directors overlooked on a first reading,”
said Don McNay. “Since we have access to almost every financial
institution that offer structured settlements, we can use Angela’s
medical reports to negotiate outstanding rates of return when our competitors
cannot.”
Angela’s lifelong education in herbalism stems from her Appalachian
roots but includes experiences gained from a wide variety of real life
applications. Combining her work with distressed adolescents and adults,
her constant presence at herbal conferences nationwide and daily study
and use of herbal remedies gives Luhys a well grounded practical grounding
to balance her academic research.
Luhys, a Hyden, Kentucky, native, is a graduate of the exclusive Northeastern
School of Botanical Medicine in Ithaca, New York. She is the mother of
Abijah Luhys, who serves as Director of Infant and Childhood Development
for McNay Settlement Group Inc.
